Live for yourself!

Do you remember a day when someone was body shaming you, and you accepted and believed all the nonsense they had to say about you? Do you remember a day when you failed terribly at something you loved or a day when you felt so lonely that you decided to give up your life? But, it is commendable of you to be still alive and doing well and reading this!

Sometimes we think of taking our lives, and seldomly we try it too. Some succeed also. We have many spiritual and social theories about not giving up our lives. Today I will discuss the biological reasons to keep ourselves alive.

We, humans, have gone through many transitions from our ape-like structure over the millenniums (3,15,000 years, to be exact!) to be us. Your ancestors have survived many things over lacs years like natural calamities, wars, etc., to transfer their genes without breaking the chain to bring you on Earth. I think this astounding fact might bring a smile to you.

If this does not motivate you to start loving your life, let us look into our bodies. Do you know how many atoms/cells come together to make our bodies? Some(?) trillions. Even astonishing scientific discoveries could not ascertain the number of cells in your body. I think you are now getting some hang of the remarkable and mysterious body you got. For your whole life span, the cells will be working tirelessly together to make your body function efficiently and optimally. The most interesting fact is that 99% of your body mass is made of only six elements. They are oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. Only about 0.85% is composed of another five elements: potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, and magnesium. Nothing that you can not find at a regular pharmacy. Still, they come together and form a stunning life, you. Therefore, you can cherish the fact that a lot goes into making you, you.

Prolonged life of 75 years has about 6,45,000 hours only. Approximately half of them you spend in sleeping and leisure. Many of the remaining hours, if you spend worrying whether or not to take your life or imitating others lives on yours when you will live? Love your body (because it is unique and will support you till your last breath). Love yourself and start living for yourself.

Have a good day.
