Corona effect!
Whenever in my hometown, I usually spend my evenings on terrace. I am qualified to say that I live in a pretty busy area. Because it is near to one of the premier coaching institutes of Kota. There are countless P.Gs. and hostels, several marts and hotels , many grocery stores and stationary shops, numerous eateries and restaurants and what not. Students, teachers, businessmen, busy and running, all thriving for more.
Today was a different evening because of pertaining lock down in the country in lieu of the spread of COVID-19. Many people were on their terrace spending their evenings , the roads and parks were empty, life seemed slow paced around my locality. The sky was clearer(can't ignore the role of rain two days ago though!). I could see a little more stars(AW!). I was kind of relaxed and thrilled to see that.
Relaxed because people are following home quarantine religiously in my neighborhood and I am proud of it. Thrilled because I suddenly realized that this is not gonna last forever. This slow-paced life, colorful terraces, cleaner sky and less noise. All I wanted to embrace the moment and I lived it perfectly , incarnated it in my memory as one of the best one.
Once this era of COVID-19 is over, we will come back to our usual busy life with multi-fold enthusiasm. We would be more desperate to make-up for the lost time, fuel up to earn more, and hence, pollute more in the consequence. Also, COVID-19 has made my life so uncertain that the apprehensions which existed few days ago and mattered most to me , now seem futile.
All I pray everyday that the world come out of this problem asap and my every loved one, friend, acquaintance, known pass this pandemic without getting affected(Hope keeps us alive and content, whether a false one). Every night I thank God for keeping my every known(till now!Phew!) safe and sound.
Therefore , this is debatable whether we would respect our mother earth afterwards or not we can here are certain takeaways: - 1. We can try to live in present more and be aware of our surroundings and, 2. We can be more grateful. 3. In future atleast, we can emerge out of our bogus statements of protecting earth and actually do something this time(May be planting a tree each year on our birthday, using only recyclable plastic, listen to our respective municipalities and stop using the plastic or at least minimize it and throwing waste only in their bins instead of throwing it in nearby empty plot(ouch!), instead of taking the vehicle everywhere, we could walk(or take a bike) for some meters and etc etc.)
For Now, stay home, stay safe and follow the guidelines issued by WHO and your respective government.
Thank you. Have a good life :-)
